Nanto: Call it magic
Nanto: Valletta dei Poeti
On internet you’ll find really few information about this wonderful place.
Nanto is famous for its stone caves since the Roman Empire.
The architecture of the Roman Vicenza is largely the work of the stonecutters and quarrymen of Nanto.
The moment of glory came in the epic Venetian Renaissance , when the stone was the star of sculpture and architecture in the villas in the countryside and in the cities of Vicenza and Padua and in Venice.
Not only sculptures here, Nanto is famous also for its olive oil, wine and truffles…and the stunning view of course.
If you are visiting the Colli Berici you can’t miss this little village.
